Every topic and every invitation now has its own link and QR code: share it in a chat, print it or put it up, and whoever scans it lands right on the topic or the talk. Waiting requests and your talks now sit in one list, and you can withdraw a request any time with ✕. Joining happens on the server in one step, open requests expire after a while, and dozens of fixes make the whole app steadier.
Links and QR codes
- Invitation links.On the invitation page, Share link sits next to Copy code. The link opens the app on the join page with the talk already found. Without the app you get a page with the store buttons and Open in browser.
- Topic links.Every topic card in Connect has a share button at the top right. It opens the topic page with Share link (in the app), Copy link (on the web), the QR code and Request a talk.
- QR codes.Tap QR code to show it large. Share image (app) or Download image (web) gives you a print-ready card with the topic, the code, a short call to action and the link. The code is made on your device; nothing goes to a third party.
- Not signed in yet?The link remembers where it was going and opens it after sign-up, with a way back.
- Your own invitation link shows a hint instead of joining your own talk.
Talks
- One list.Waiting requests and talks scroll together, and waiting rows no longer push your talks off the screen.
- Withdraw.✕ on a waiting request, in Talks and in Connect. The booked talk comes back.
- Countdown.The countdown in a talk runs correctly; before, opening a talk could end it right away. Talks whose time ran out now also end when nobody opens them again.
- The keyboard's send key works exactly like the send button, and empty messages are not sent.
- Opening a talk from a notification clears its unread marker, and the first messages are no longer hidden under the header.
- The report and profile sheets scroll above the keyboard; the End dialog speaks your language; the partner's photo and long names display correctly.
Connect
- Joining in one step.Accepting an invitation and matching from the topic cards happen on the server in one go: no half-accepted requests, and two people can never take the same request.
- Requests expire.Invitations after 7 days, topic requests after 14 days without a match. You get a short notice and can ask again any time.
- Asking twice for the same topic keeps only your first request; the second is withdrawn at once and its talk comes back.
- Find conversation works right after you type a code; Keep editing keeps you on the page.
- If an AI suggestion does not come back, the previous one stays and a short note appears.
- Your stance starts fresh for each new topic, and your own wording is taken over right away.
- Tag words are no longer in capitals ("Stadt Land", "Existence of God"); abbreviations like AI, EU or GDPR stay.
- More room under the topic stack; lists show up to 30 open requests.
Sign-up and account
- Everyone confirms the rules and the minimum age of 18, also when signing up with Google or Apple. The consent card scrolls on small phones.
- Clear hints for an invalid email address or a too-short password.
- Sign-in and password reset messages now come in your language, with clear wording.
- Saving your profile no longer resets your chosen modes, and a name is required.
- Without a profile photo you see a neutral placeholder instead of a random picture; logging out always lands on the sign-in page.
- Settings show only what works: unfinished entries (notifications, About WorldViews, support chat, placeholders in your profile) are hidden for now.
- On the web, your situation text, topic and life area no longer appear in the address bar or the browser history.
Talk tools, preparation and reflection
- Wikipedia lists results by relevance, keeps your search word visible and searches on Enter; Insert quote comes first and the sheet scrolls.
- The switch "AI mediates on its own" shows the real setting.
- The reflection reads the talk correctly (hidden and system messages left out) and finds your notes; Done can no longer be tapped twice.
- On the desktop, the preparation and reflection wizards keep a readable width.
Results and My Views
- Result cards no longer overflow.
- Region tiles fit on small phones, the panel scrolls into view, and nothing flashes "Unexplored" while loading.
- One row per topic with your latest position; tap a row to read the full text.
- The dots on Results and My Views now appear on every device you use, not only on the one where you finished the reflection.
Practice
- Demo content (coaching, mini courses) is hidden until the real content is ready.
Also in this update
- Topics in your language.The topic gallery shows only topics in your app language (English, German or Chinese) and reloads when you switch.
- Change your email address.The confirmation link goes to the new address, in your language; your address changes once you open it. Password reset mails come in your language too.
- Manage subscription on the web.Opens subscription management; without a subscription you get a short note with Plans & Pricing.
- Terms of Use (EULA)in Settings on iPhone.
- Mediator.The AI in talks is now simply called Mediator and still carries the AI badge.
- Result cardssay "Your assessment:" before the outcome. The outcome "We agree to disagree" is now calledAcknowledgement(we see it differently and let it stand). Labels and marks are easier to read.
- Settings rows grow with large text, and Practice shows the offline card in full.
- Deleting your account also deletes notes from older app versions.
You can now report a message or a person and block someone in two taps: the talk ends for both of you without saying who ended it, and you will not be matched again. If a message points to a crisis or to violence, the person concerned privately receives help numbers and the AI switches to a calm, protective mode. Under Sources, Wikipedia now shows up to five matching articles so you can pick the right one, and every mediator message carries an AI badge.
Safety
- Report.On a message from the other person or from the AI, tap ⋯ and choose Report message; on a profile, Report person. Pick one of seven reasons and add a note if you like. A message you reported disappears for you right away, and we look at every report within 24 hours.
- Block.On a profile: Block person. The talk ends for both of you without a hint who ended it, open invitations between you are cancelled, and you will not be matched or invited again. Unblock any time under Settings → Account → Blocked people. Unblocking does not reopen ended talks.
- Screening in talks with strangers.In talks that started from the topic cards, the AI checks each new message for serious violations only: credible threats, hate against groups, sexual content, anything involving minors, sharing private data. Such a message is not shown to the other person, the writer gets a private note, and our moderation is informed. Harsh words in an argument are not filtered, and talks by invitation are not screened this way.
- Support when it matters.If a message points to a crisis, or to violence or coercion, the person concerned receives help numbers in a private system message, once per talk, in the app language. The AI then stops working toward an agreement: it stays calm and neutral, offers a pause and never names the trigger.
- Rules and 18+.When you create an account you now accept the rules (no harassment, threats, hate or sexual content; we may hide content, end talks and suspend accounts) and confirm that you are at least 18. WorldViews is rated 18+ in the App Store and on Google Play.
- Before you share contact details.While you type a phone number, an e-mail address or a street address, a quiet hint reminds you to share it only with someone you trust. WorldViews never asks for it. Sending images in a talk is off for now.
- Moderation.Reports reach us as a push notification and are handled from a moderation screen inside the app, also while travelling. Accounts that break the rules can be suspended; a suspended account can read its talks but not start new ones or send messages.
AI
- AI badge.Every message from the mediator shows a small AI badge next to its name.
- Named provider.The consent text at sign-up now says that talk content is processed by Google Gemini for the AI mediation.
Sources
- Pick the right Wikipedia article.Sources → Wikipedia shows up to five matching articles with title and first lines. Tap one to see the preview; Open original opens exactly that article, Insert quote quotes it, Back to results returns to the list. A new search resets the choice. If a topic word finds little in your language's Wikipedia, use the search line.
Prepare and Cool down
- The preparation wizard shows your topic's tag word above Step 1 of 3.
- Breathe for a moment has proper spacing inside its card.
- The Waiting for a partner label on Connect now hugs its text.
Fixes
- Icons that showed as boxes in release builds (navigation bar, Wikipedia, quote, Apple sign-in and others) render again.
- The "no article found" hint under Sources appears when a search has no result.
- The talk list preview never shows a hidden message.
Every new talk now opens with a short message from the AI: it greets both of you by name, names the topic, mode and time frame, and suggests a first step. A new tool, Breathe for a moment, guides you through three breaths under Cool down. Your open requests now sit right below the topic cards on Connect, and a match shows up as a dot on Talks and a short note the moment someone joins.
AI in the talk
- Opening message.As soon as both of you are in the talk, the AI writes the first message, in the language of the person who started the talk. It knows your names, the topic and background, the mode you chose and the time frame, and it proposes one first step.
- AI mediates on its own.Under Mediate there is a new switch, on by default: the AI reads along and speaks up when it helps, for both of you. Switch it off any time; Let AI Mediate still calls it whenever you want.
- Addressed by name.The AI speaks to you by name and runs on a newer model.
- Breathe for a moment.Under Cool down: three guided breaths, about twenty seconds, a circle that grows and shrinks with you. Nothing is saved or measured. If your system has Reduce motion on, the circle stays still.
- Tidier tool windows.Buttons that had no function yet are gone. Sources keeps Wikipedia, Mediate keeps Let AI Mediate and the new switch.
Connect and Talks
- Match alert.When someone joins your request you see a dot on Talks and the note "You got a match! {name} is here." with Open. The person who was waiting also gets a push notification.
- Your open requests.Right below the topic cards on Connect: the topic's tag word and Waiting for a partner. Tap to prepare. The row appears the moment you create a request.
- Own topics stay private.A topic you describe yourself does not appear in the public card stack. Others join it with your code.
Subscription
- The paywall speaks your language.German, English or Chinese, in the app and on the web. Subscription & prices on the web now opens the purchase page.
Design
- Dark mode reworked.A new dark palette and more consistent colors across the app, the first step of the new design system.
Security
- Talks and messages are private.Only the two people in a talk can read it. Nobody can write as the mediator or as the other person, and credits are booked only by the server.
Fixes
- Grey screen on Talks (the waiting row) fixed. Reflection without preparation opens cleanly. Talks whose partner deleted their account are filed as ended. Deleting your account asks for a short re-login when needed. Sign in with Apple is offered on iPhone and iPad only (Android and web: Google or e-mail). Navigation and tool icons render again on every platform.
A good talk starts before the first sentence and does not end with the last one. This update gives every talk in WorldViews a lifecycle — and a place where what you learned adds up.
New
Prepare in three steps.
Before a talk, note what you want to achieve, which arguments and sources matter to you, and how you feel. During the talk your preparation sits behind the notes icon next to the message box: a dot tells you an argument is still waiting, one tap drops it into your message, and a check mark shows what you have already used.Reflect in five steps.
After a talk: What came out of it? Did you reach your goals? Which messages do you want to keep? How do you feel now? And finally: has your view shifted? You pick your stance on the same dial as at the start, with your original view right next to it.Results.
Every reflected talk leaves a dated entry: topic, outcome (agreed, agreed to differ, still open), your position, your partner and your takeaway. Newest first.My Views as a map.
Your positions now live on a map with five areas of life: Relationships & family, Work & business, Housing & neighborhood, Politics & society, Values & religion. Tap a region to see your views there; unexplored regions wait for your first talk.Offline talks.
Not every talk happens in the app. Choose "Offline" when you create one, prepare, have the talk at the kitchen table or in the office, and reflect on it here afterwards. Under Practice you'll find "Prepare an offline talk".Wikipedia as a source.

Delete your account, entirely, in-app.
One tap in Settings removes your account with everything attached to it: your messages, contributions, profile data, photos and uploads — even push notification tokens. No emails, no support tickets — it just works, and it's permanent.Withdraw your consent anytime.
WorldViews runs on conversations about opinions and beliefs, which is why we ask for your explicit consent (in line with GDPR). If you change your mind, you can withdraw it in Settings at any time — your account and content are removed the same way.Respectful goodbyes.
When someone deletes their account, their conversation partners see a short notice in the chat. Ended conversations become read-only, so your side of the story stays with you.## Improved

A quick security sign-in check now happens before

🎯Matching Algorithm Improvements
How it Works:
- Matching algorithm now successfully pairs users with different opinions.
- Match requests and preparation documents are now available in the Prepare section.
Known limitations:
- Self-matching is possible if you have different opinions (fix in progress!).
- Completed matches may not add the second member to the chat (fix coming soon!).

- Redesigned tabs across the app, including the New and Chat sections for a cleaner look.
- Added an empty Mediations tab as a placeholder for future features.
🔧 Bug Fixes & Improvements
- You can now delete unwanted preparations via the small settings icon in the Prepare menu.

⚠️ Known Limitations
- Placeholder content remains in Results and Growth sections. Missions in Growth are not functional yet.
- Debate tools are inactive but will be prioritized soon.

Step Debate Joining
: Joining a debate now involves two steps for a smoother, more intuitive experience. After selecting a topic (swipe right), you’ll see a bottom sheet with the chosen topic and be prompted to select your opinion separately. This gives users a chance to confirm their choices before committing, preventing unwanted selections while maintaining the fun of the swiping flow.🌐
Localized Topics
: The topics displayed now match the language of your app settings. This update introduces English language topics for the first time, making WorldViews more accessible for English-speaking users, with more topics to come soon.📂
Content Categories:
We’ve introduced content categories as our first filtering system. You can now choose from four categories, plus a special "✒️ Editorial" category featuring topics curated by the WorldViews editorial team. This allows users to filter and explore specific types of debate topics.🖌️
UI Improvements:
